0:00 So, a long day on the trail, a long week, but we're in Tallahassee, Florida, and tomorrow morning we will announce the person that I've chosen to be the next Lieutenant Governor of the state of Florida.
0:11 Florida has an interesting history with our Lieutenant Governor positions. At times, it has not held the responsibility that I think it should.
0:20 And so, one of the things I've decided to do is reimagine and invest in the role of Lieutenant Governor.
0:26 When I thought about the position, I thought about two things. First, and most importantly, I want a governing partner capable of being Governor of the state.

1:05 And, sure, I hope to be a gubernatorial candidate in whom the people of Florida can place their trust, but one of the ways to demonstrate that fitness for that responsibility is to name a Lieutenant Governor that is equally capable of leading the state.
1:20 And so, I'm very excited about what tomorrow brings. I'm excited, sure, for our campaign, but I'm excited for the state.
1:29 My wife and I have two young kids, and we speak openly about our decision to raise our kids in Florida, the concerns we have, the anxieties we have around the economy and the culture wars and the corruption.
1:42 And so, to build a team of leadership, starting with our Lieutenant Governor, but including other positions as well in the next five months, where we can demonstrate to the state that we understand the most pressing issues, that we are resolved to address them, and that we're going to return adult leadership to the state of Florida, and along the way, some honesty and a little bit of kindness.
