PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (September 12, 2026) – House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has endorsed David Jolly and Gwen Graham for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Florida, the Jolly-Graham campaign announced today.

“I proudly and strongly support David and Gwen, am fully behind their candidacy, and I’m looking forward to the partnership up and down the ticket,” said Leader Jeffries. “This is a critically important election. Everything we care about is on the line.”

“Gwen and I are grateful for the support of Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The eyes of the nation are on this race. Let's put in the work and get this across the finish line on November 3rd,” said Democratic nominee for Governor David Jolly.

Jeffries is the first Black lawmaker to lead a major political party in either chamber of Congress. The endorsement comes just days after the Jolly-Graham campaign announced a steering committee to lead Black outreach through November.

As governor, Jolly has pledged to open an office of civil rights, push back against culture wars that attack the teaching of Black history, and support robust voting rights legislation. Housing, healthcare, and education for all Floridians are key pillars of Jolly’s agenda.
