FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“Folks, this election is no longer about policy – it’s about our national identity, about who we are. The President depicting the Obamas as monkeys, a Florida gubernatorial candidate unleashing antisemitism and cheered for it, another peddling Islamophobia, ICE agents detaining a 5 year old in bunny ears and a Spiderman backpack, the whitewashing of credible allegations in the Epstein files of pedophilia and rape. All of it now routinely enabled and given equity in the public square. It’s vile.
We’re holding a mirror up to ourselves right now. Forget about policy – this is about who we are as a people, and it’s terrifying what the answer most days seems to be.
One of the fundamental tenets of our campaign for Florida Governor is that everyone’s rights should be protected and their dignity celebrated – their dignity celebrated – regardless of the color of their skin, where they were born, who they love, or who they worship.
Whether you believe in the teachings of a faith that declares we are all made in God’s image or whether you embrace Jefferson’s declaration of the natural rights of man, this is what we are litigating right now in America.
We will never make America great again if we don’t first make America good again. Please consider doing your part to make us good again. May we all commit to at least that this November.”

About Rep. David Jolly
Former Congressman David Jolly declared his candidacy for Florida Governor in June of this year and is traveling the state, holding community meetings—more than 100 to date—to understand voters’ concerns and build a coalition of people at all levels dedicated to solving Florida’s urgent issues. A fifth-generation Floridian, Jolly was raised in a minister’s home, and today he and his wife Laura are raising their young family in Pinellas County, which he represented in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2014-2017.
Jolly’s gubernatorial bid is focused on reducing the state’s affordability crisis by expanding affordable access to housing, healthcare, and education. Jolly’s additional focus is on ending the state’s culture wars, creating a state where everyone is welcome and empowered regardless of the color of their skin, where they were born, who they love, or who they worship. In addition to his time in Congress, Rep. Jolly has been a long-time political commentator on NBC and MSNBC.
